Text Box: Happy New Year brethren and best wishes to you all and your families in 2006.
There goes another year and what a fantastic and busy year for myself and Baden Powell Lodge. Since my Installation and the officer’s investitures, we have had 2 entertaining Lodge nights and I have done a fair amount of visiting. There was a visit to S.A. by Bro. David Wain, W.Bro. Graham White, Leslie White and myself, paying a visit to Duke Of Leinster Lodge 363 IC for a 1st degree and to Lodge Baden Powell 222 SA&NT for their Installation. Both very interesting visits seeing the different ceremonies of other constitutions. We all enjoyed our week in Adelaide.
 The October meeting being my first as Master was a bit nervy but we all pulled off a very successful and busy night full of informative reports & jewel presentations. We had a very entertaining report by Bro. Phil Davenport on the Rover section with the history and news of today’s Rovers.
There was also a presentation by W.Bro. Graham White on the Baden Powell Lodge Almoners/Welfare Team, covering the many initiatives the team carry out to assist the members, their families and the widows of our past members. He also reminded us to let the team know if there is an illness with ourselves or we know of others, or in need of assistance with a welfare situation.
Congratulations to the Brethren who received the Jewels presented over the last few months in recognition to their service to Baden Powell Lodge, with Freemasons Hospital Jewels presented to the following Brethren, (possible for the last time as Grand Lodge now finalising the sale of the Hospital);
V.Wor.Bro. Peter Edmonds PGIWkgs received a Patron Jewel
W.Bro. Peter Trenery received the Life Governor Jewel
We also presented Royal Freemasons Homes of Victoria Jewels to the following brethren and also to 2 of the Ladies of the Lodge.

W.Bro. Tony Eijgendaal received the Vice President Jewel
W.Bro. David Bennell received the Vice President Jewel
Norma Martin received Life Governors Jewel
Elizabeth Oberin received Life Governors Jewel
Congratulation goes also to W.Bro. Eric Davey PJGD on receiving his 60 year bar.
It was unfortunate to have the passing of Bro. Frank Storey, a very special member of Baden Powell Lodge who will be sadly missed, our thoughts are with Bev and those close to Frank. It was a moving funeral well attended by Baden Powell Lodge members.
The Lodge has had another successful time of social events, W.Bro. Jon Franklin finished his year as master with a wonderful Sunday lunch at Malvern Golf Club. The next function was an afternoon at the theatre to see a production of Educating Rita, for those who attended it was an extremely entertaining show.
We capped off the year with a hugely successful Christmas in the South, with the Ladies and guests to the Lodge enjoying a very entertaining night, with a wonderful dance presentation of 4 dance styles by a group who put a good bit of rehearsal into an enjoyable presentation. Father & Mother Christmas visited and led us through a sing along of Christmas Carols. From the many reports all those who attended had a wonderful night. Thank you all for the gifts donated to the Anglicare DIXON HOUSE and thank you to W.Bro. Graham White for his work in putting the night together.
Don’t forget the next social event coming up on Sunday 12th February in the Fitzroy gardens, a great night for a picnic, live music and dance.
The uniform night is nearly upon us again. Looking forward to catching up with you all in 2006.
