Text Box: Text Box: 2007 Installation
Text Box: What a wonderful day and evening it was! The installation was conducted by the Most Worshipful Grand Master and Grand Lodge team before 133 members, visitors and non-Freemason guests.
Whilst the Lodge conducted the formal proceedings of the Installation of Master the guests were addressed by R.W.Bro John Glover, Grand Superintendent of Membership. Many non Freemasons indicated they were very impressed by the informative talk.
It also impressed many of our visitors that our ceremonial team were so young and that Baden Powell have many more younger stewards to progress as officers of the lodge.
The Grand Master addressed the members of the lodge and the special guests on the foundation of Freemasonry, the contribution Freemasonry makes towards society and Masonic and non-Masonic charities. During his address our Grand Master drew our attention to the work Grand Lodge was spending on updating the Text Box: Lodge Renewal Programme and that all subordinate lodges must embrace this programme for survival.
Our Grand Master was delighted to see so many non-Freemasons attending the installation and invited them to ask members of Baden Powell as many questions they may have.
A great night and thank you to all the members who made the installation the success it was.

Text Box: World Jamboree - “One World – One Promise”
Text Box: The World Jamboree this year was celebrating the centenary of Scouting at the Hylands Historical Park in Chelmsford (Essex) UK. Chelmsford is just off the M25 Motorway North East of London.
There were 46,000+ Scouts attending the Jamboree, representing all 216 countries in which Scouting occurs. Each country attending provided an information tent and it was very interesting listening and learning about their different cultures and customs. It would have been very easy spending 10 days just visiting the information centres, they were so interesting.
The World Jamboree Foundation ensured all Scouting countries were represented. During our visit we met 13 Scouts from Georgia (USSR) who were sponsored by the Foundation. They were the most appreciative and happy Scouts attending the Jamboree.
We were most appreciative of the hospitality of Michael and Joan Baden-Powell at the Jamboree. Michael and Joan looked after us extremely well.
